Hi everyone welcome to Mitch's site. We hope after reading this, some of your questions will be answered.

Mitch was born on September 24, 1989 in Hinton Alberta. Later that day we were told of a heart murmur and had to take him to the U of A hospital in Edmonton. Since then we have been learning more of his heart disease and preparing for the day that is coming. Mitch has what is call an aortic stenosis. All this means is that the aortic valve in his heart is narrowed(located in the center of the heart(yellow) on the picture to your right). On November 6th of this year Mitch will have a procedure called a cardiac catherization or angiogram. The procedure will be performed at the U of A by Dr. Coe. Dr. Coe is a world renowned cardiologist who we are very lucky to have in Alberta. Please take a look at the links to your left to learn more.

Just a quick note that Mitch's appointment was changed by the doctor to Nov. 20th so his pre-op will be on the 19th. Ken

What's New?

Wednesday November 19th

Hi everyone; we got Mitch to his appointment today regardless of the snow. Everything went well for the pre-op and his procedure is at 1130 tomorrow morning. I will try to update the site tomorrow and let you know how it went. Ken

Mitch went into the procedure at 1130 this morning and came out at 1pm. We talked to the doc at about 130 and everything went great. His aortic valve is in good shape but because there is a small bit of leakage they would not attempt to stretch it. But all in all his heart is in good shape and he will be released at around 6PM. Thank you for all your concern. It really means a lot to all of us. Ken
